9×9 Rotate and Flip

This is a 9×9 grid block game. You must fit the pieces to make horizontal or vertical matches. There are three game modes: 'Classic': Make as many rows and columns as possible to score. You will lose the game if you don't have more spaces to fit the pieces; 'By time': You lose when your time's up. But you can gain extra time by destroying rows or columns that have the power-up Time.; and Bombs: Destroy rows or columns with bombs to defuse them. If any bomb explode you lose!

Controls

Drag a piece onto the grid; use the rotate control before placing.

How to Play

  1. Pick a mode: classic, timed, or the third variant.
  2. Rotate a piece if the mode allows it, then place it on the grid.
  3. Complete rows or columns to clear them.
  4. Play until the grid fills or the clock runs out.

Tips & Tricks

In timed mode, stop planning. Clearing anything beats clearing well, and hesitation is the only thing that reliably ends the run.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three modes in 9x9 Rotate and Flip?

A classic mode that ends when no piece fits, a timed mode that ends with the clock, and a third variant on the same grid.

Is a 9x9 grid harder than a 10x10 one?

Generally yes. There is one less square of slack in every row and column, so long pieces become awkward sooner.
