Portal Hop

Portal Hop has an unusual hero: someone who carries a portal above their head. That portal is the main tool. You use it to warp yourself up onto higher platforms, moving through each level by placing yourself where the portal can take you and climbing one ledge at a time.

The height of the portal is the variable you control. Scattered through the levels are plus and minus power-ups, and collecting them raises or lowers the portal. That turns every pickup into a decision. A plus might be exactly what you need for the next ledge, or it might leave the portal too high for the one after.

So the game rewards planning. The description asks you to think smart, plan your moves and find the perfect path to your destination, and that is the right way to approach it: look at the whole level, count the platforms, and decide which power-ups to take before you set off.

1. Survey the level and find your destination.
2. Collect plus or minus power-ups to change the portal's height.
3. Warp onto a higher platform through the portal.
4. Repeat until you reach the end of the level.

Do not grab every power-up you see. Work out the portal height each platform needs, then collect only the pluses and minuses that get you there.
