Halloween Mazes

Halloween Mazes is a set of twelve seasonal labyrinths, each with an entrance, an exit and plenty of twisting corridors in between. The task is the oldest one in any puzzle book: find the path that leads from one end to the other.

What changes the feel is the clock. Every maze is a race against time, and the path has to be found before the timer runs out. That rules out slow, wall-by-wall exploration and rewards a quick eye for which corridors are going somewhere and which fold back into dead ends. Twists and turns are the whole design, so expect a few false starts on the trickier boards.

With 12 puzzles in total, it is a compact collection rather than an open-ended supply, which suits a short seasonal session. The Halloween theme sets the mood around the corridors, and the arcade tag fits the pressure of a countdown. If you enjoy mazes but want a little urgency in them, this is a neat October pick for players of any age.

1. Find the entrance and the exit of the maze.
2. Scan the corridors for a route between them.
3. Trace the path before time runs out.
4. Move on through all 12 Halloween puzzles.

Look from the exit backwards as well as from the entrance forwards. Dead ends near the exit are easier to rule out from that side.
